Charles Schwab, the $13 trillion asset manager, announced that its Schwab Crypto platform will add three additional digital assets – Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX) and Chainlink (LINK) – to the lineup that already includes Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Expansion timeline

The new assets are slated to become available in Schwab Crypto accounts in the coming months, following the platform’s launch in May 2026.

Market reaction

  • Solana rose 12.4% on the day of the announcement.
  • Chainlink increased 6.8%.
  • Avalanche gained 4.6%.
  • Bitcoin was up about 7% over the prior week, while Solana’s weekly gain reached 24.1%.

Institutional context

The move follows a broader trend of traditional finance firms expanding crypto offerings beyond spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs. Earlier in 2025, spot funds for assets such as SOL, XRP, LTC and DOGE were introduced, and broker‑dealing platforms are now adding direct purchase options.

Schwab’s rationale

Joe Vietri, Schwab’s head of digital assets, said the additions give clients more flexibility to build digital‑asset allocations within the broader investing and banking experience Schwab provides. He noted that the firm will continue to offer education, tools and support for these assets.

Future considerations

Schwab Crypto disclosed that the company retains the right to delay, modify or withdraw support for any listed asset.
