Aave Labs Proposes Tokenized-Asset Credit Market on Avalanche Using Tether's USA₮
The Aave V4 RWA Hub would let institutions borrow USA₮ against tokenized collateral on Avalanche. The hub and the USA₮ listing both go to an Aave DAO vote, and the release gives no launch date.

Aave Labs announced plans to create a dedicated real‑world asset (RWA) credit market on the Avalanche blockchain, allowing institutions to borrow the Tether‑issued stablecoin USA₮ against tokenized collateral.
How the RWA Hub Works
The proposed market will be built on Aave V4’s hub‑and‑spoke architecture. The hub oversees multiple “spokes,” each with its own risk parameters, oracles, and emergency controls, while drawing liquidity from the hub’s balance sheet. This design isolates tokenized collateral from Aave’s core liquidity pool, enabling credit lines without merging risk.
Current Aave V4 Deployment on Avalanche
As of the latest data, Aave V4 on Avalanche holds $15.9 million in net deposits and $6.8 million borrowed, part of a total $448 million across all chains. Overall, Aave’s lending market totals $17.7 billion in deposits and $12.4 billion borrowed, making it the largest DeFi lending platform.
DAO Governance and Voting Process
Both the RWA hub proposal and the USA₮ asset listing require approval from the Aave DAO. Previous votes related to the Avalanche deployment passed with overwhelming support, but the specific proposals for the RWA hub and USA₮ have not yet been posted for voting.
USA₮ Details
USA₮ is a dollar‑stable token issued by Anchorage Digital Bank and branded by Tether. It currently runs on Ethereum and Celo, with a circulating supply of about 184 million tokens and reserves matching the supply. An Avalanche deployment would be its third blockchain.
Industry Context
Tokenized real‑world assets total roughly $38.8 billion across all chains, with $1.7 billion on Avalanche’s C‑Chain. Existing institutional credit markets, such as Horizon on Ethereum, already allow borrowing against tokenized assets, but the proposed Aave RWA hub would be the first native V4 implementation under direct DAO governance.
