Aave V4 launches Base equities market with Coinbase tokenized stocks
Aave has announced a Base equities market designed to accept seven Coinbase-issued tokenized stocks as collateral for USDC loans, with an initial borrowing cap of $21 million.

link" href="/prices/aave-aave">Aave’s upcoming V4 upgrade introduces a dedicated Equities Hub on Base, allowing eligible users to pledge seven tokenized U.S. technology stocks as collateral for USDC loans.
Supported tokenized stocks
The hub will accept tokens linked to Apple, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia and Tesla. These tokens are issued by Coinbase and are only available to eligible non‑U.S. users.
Collateral and borrowing limits
- Initial USDC borrowing cap: $21 million.
- USDC supply cap for the hub: $32 million.
- Combined initial stock collateral cap (per LlamaRisk): roughly $29 million.
- Individual collateral factors range from 65 % (Meta, Tesla) to 79 % (Microsoft).
Market mechanics
Borrowers can deposit the stock tokens and receive USDC without selling their equity exposure. USDC is the sole borrowable asset; users cannot borrow one stock token against another. Lenders supply USDC to a shared reserve, earning interest while assuming exposure to the loan portfolio.
Pricing and risk monitoring
Chainlink will provide price feeds for the tokenized stocks during U.S. market hours, with the last published price held over weekends and holidays. LlamaRisk notes that price gaps when markets reopen could affect liquidation thresholds, and the risk provider will review settings once continuous feeds are available.
Aave token price context
Following the announcement, AAVE traded near $147, up about 2.4 % over 24 hours, with technical analysis indicating resistance around $155 and support near $135.
