Arbitrum Surges 26% as Bitcoin and Ethereum Slip, Driven by Robinhood Chain Activity
Arbitrum’s token jumped 26% in 24 hours, reaching around $0.11, while Bitcoin and Ethereum fell. The rally coincided with record‑high fees on Robinhood Chain, which routes a share of its revenue to the Arbitrum ecosystem.
Arbitrum’s native token (ARB) gained 26% over the past 24 hours, trading near $0.1101, while both Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) slipped during the same period. The price move occurred alongside a surge in activity on Robinhood Chain, an Orbit‑based network that allocates part of its revenue to the Arbitrum ecosystem.
Robinhood Chain Revenue Boosts ARB
According to DefiLlama, Robinhood Chain collected $2.13 million in chain fees in the last 24 hours, with total chain revenue of $1.92 million and DEX volume of $1.462 billion. By comparison, Arbitrum One generated roughly $16 000 in fees over the same window. Under the Arbitrum Expansion Program, Orbit chains contribute 8% of net revenue to the Arbitrum DAO treasury and 2% to a developer guild, giving ARB holders a claim on fees earned outside Arbitrum One.
Technical Outlook
On the daily chart, ARB broke out of a six‑week range ($0.075‑$0.100) but stalled near the 0.618 Fibonacci level at $0.1193. The price briefly touched $0.1202 before sellers intervened, and it now sits around the 0.5 Fibonacci level near $0.1100. The Relative Strength Index is close to 70, indicating potential overbought conditions.
Analyst MasterCryptoHq notes a symmetrical triangle pattern with resistance at $0.1495 and $0.1729. A clean breakout could target those levels. On the four‑hour chart, ARB trades within an ascending channel, with the midline near $0.1007 (0.382 Fibonacci support). A break below $0.1045 would weaken the bullish case, and the next demand zone lies at $0.0891.
Upcoming Catalysts and Risks
- Robinhood’s 90‑day gas subsidy is set to expire near the end of September.
- Approximately 92.6 million ARB tokens are scheduled to unlock on September 16.
- Derivatives open interest has risen 62%, and funding rates have turned positive, exposing long positions if the price falls below $0.1100.
For the rally to sustain, Robinhood Chain volume must remain strong without the subsidy, and ARB needs to hold the $0.1100 support level.
