AVA Token Surges Over 100% After Bithumb KRW Listing

The AVA token, linked to Binance‑backed travel platform Travala, jumped more than 100% intraday following the launch of an AVA/KRW pair on South Korean exchange Bithumb, before easing to a still‑strong gain of about 72% over 24 hours.

The AVA token, the native currency of the Binance‑backed travel platform Travala, experienced a dramatic intraday rally after Bithumb introduced a Korean won (KRW) trading pair.

KRW Listing Triggers Sharp Price Move

Bithumb, one of South Korea’s largest won‑based exchanges, opened AVA/KRW trading at 2 p.m. Korea time. The token rose from a low near $0.155 to a high of $0.329, an increase of roughly 112% within 24 hours. After the peak, the price settled around $0.27, still up about 72% from the previous day.

Trading Volume Highlights Fresh Liquidity

During the first day of the KRW pair, close to $40 million worth of AVA was traded on Bithumb, compared with roughly $26 million on Binance’s AVA/USDT market. These figures reflect the flow of new liquidity rather than net inflows.

Leverage Amplifies the Rally

Futures data shows that open interest on Binance’s AVA contracts jumped about 454% to $6.9 million, indicating heavy speculative activity. Short liquidations on Binance reached approximately $784 000, while long liquidations were about $433 000, suggesting short‑covering added buying pressure.

Buyback Program Provides Background Support

The AVA Foundation reported a repurchase of nearly 370 000 AVA on September 15 as part of its monthly buyback program, locking more than 13% of the circulating supply. Although the buyback predates the Bithumb listing, it may have reduced the float available for selling.

Outlook

It remains uncertain whether AVA can maintain its 72% gain once the initial surge in Bithumb volume subsides.
