Binance launches 24/7 FX perpetual futures with weekend pricing

Binance is joining a growing number of crypto exchanges offering around-the-clock exposure to foreign exchange markets through perpetual futures.

Binance announced the launch of 24/7 perpetual futures for foreign exchange, beginning with a US dollar‑Brazilian real (USDBRL) contract settled in USDT. The product aims to provide continuous price discovery and hedging opportunities beyond traditional FX market hours.

Dual‑mode pricing system

During regular FX trading sessions, the contract price will follow a weighted index sourced from third‑party data providers. On weekends and public holidays, Binance will switch to an order‑book‑based pricing mechanism that uses an exponentially weighted moving average of order‑book prices.

Leverage and settlement

The USDBRLUSDT contract, set to go live on September 21, will offer up to 100× leverage and settle in USDT.

Industry context

Binance’s entry follows recent moves by other crypto exchanges. Bybit introduced 24/7 FX perpetuals for EUR/USD, GBP/USD and USD/JPY with similar leverage and USDT settlement. Kraken launched FX perpetuals for several major currencies in April 2025, offering up to 50× leverage after years of spot FX trading.

Market significance

These products give crypto traders exposure to currency movements without holding the underlying assets, tapping into the global foreign‑exchange market, which handled an average daily OTC turnover of $9.6 trillion in April 2025 according to the Bank for International Settlements.
