US‑listed Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange‑traded funds (ETFs) posted their biggest weekly inflows since October 2025, attracting a total of $2.6 billion over the seven‑day period ending August 21.

Bitcoin ETFs Lead the Surge

Bitcoin‑linked products received $1.92 billion in new capital. The inflow was driven by five consecutive days of net purchases from August 17 to August 21, highlighted by a $606 million single‑day intake on August 20. Weekly trading volume in Bitcoin ETFs rose to $22.15 billion, roughly three times the prior week’s level.

Ethereum ETFs Follow Suit

Ethereum funds added $697.18 million, reversing a $391.96 million outflow recorded the week before. The largest daily inflow for Ethereum ETFs since October occurred on August 20, when $220.77 million entered the market.

Overall Asset Growth

While net inflows totaled $2.6 billion, the combined assets of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs grew by about $23 billion, reflecting significant revaluation of underlying holdings. Implied gains were 22.9 % for Bitcoin and 29.2 % for Ethereum, largely driven by price appreciation between August 19 and August 21.

Altcoin Spot ETFs Also See Inflows

Other US‑listed altcoin spot ETFs recorded net inflows during the same week. XRP ETFs led with $39.78 million and set a record weekly trading volume of $271.74 million. Solana (SOL) products added $28.34 million, marking an eighth consecutive week of inflows. Chainlink (LINK) funds attracted $13.35 million, their second‑largest week since launch, and closed with a record $171.59 million in assets. Hyperliquid (HYPE) products grew by $3.89 million to a record $360.39 million, while Dogecoin (DOGE) funds added $654,416.

Annual Outlook

Despite the weekly surge, both Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs remain below their August 2025 peaks, with assets 53 % lower for Ethereum and a cumulative decline of $2.91 billion for Bitcoin ETFs in 2026. Both product families are on track for their first losing year since launch.
