U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs Flip from $5.8 B Outflows to $800 M Net Inflows

After a July low of $5.8 billion in net outflows, U.S.-listed spot bitcoin ETFs have recorded nearly $800 million of net inflows for the year, driven by bitcoin’s price rise to around $85,000.

U.S.-listed spot bitcoin exchange‑traded funds (ETFs) have turned a $5.8 billion deficit into a modest $800 million surplus for the year, according to data from SoSoValue.

From red ink to green

On July 13, the ETFs were down $5.8 billion year‑to‑date. By the latest reporting, they have posted net inflows of about $800 million, marking a 180‑degree reversal.

Price recovery and inflow timing

The turnaround aligns with bitcoin’s price climbing from under $58,000 in early June to roughly $85,000, where it has hovered in recent days.

Since the August announcement by U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent of increased bond purchases, roughly $4 billion of the total inflows have occurred.

Six‑day inflow streak

The funds have logged six consecutive days of net inflows, adding $2.84 billion. This streak is smaller than the record six‑day inflow of $4.73 billion recorded in November 2024, but larger than the $2.35 billion streak in February 2024.

Context within broader ETF flows

While the current $800 million surplus is a positive shift, it remains far below the $35.2 billion net inflows recorded in 2024 and the $21.4 billion in 2025.
