Bitcoin ETFs absorb 11,500 BTC in biggest buying day in nearly two years

ARKB and FBTC each drew substantial capital, widening participation without displacing BlackRock from the top spot. The post Bitcoin ETFs just absorbed 11,500 BTC in their biggest buying day in nearly two years appeared first on CryptoSlate.

US spot Bitcoin exchange‑traded funds (ETFs) recorded nearly $1 billion of net inflows on September 21, 2026, as Bitcoin surged past $86,000. The inflows represent the largest daily total since October 6, 2025, and the biggest one‑day net intake of Bitcoin itself since November 11, 2024.

Scale of the inflows

According to SoSoValue data, the ETFs absorbed about 11,530 BTC, equivalent to $999 million. The three largest funds – BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB), and Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) – together accounted for more than $909 million of the total.

  • IBIT: $381.4 million
  • ARKB: $289.1 million
  • FBTC: $238.8 million

Market context

Despite the sizable creations, secondary‑market trading volume for US spot Bitcoin ETFs was modest, at roughly $4.5 billion during the session, slightly below the $4.6 billion recorded the previous day. Analysts note that the inflows likely reflect creation activity from the prior trading day, as fund flow reports are lagged.

Implications

Analysts suggest that the irregular pattern of large inflow days may indicate broader investor participation rather than concentration from a single institution. If the rally continues, further ETF creations could provide sustained spot demand for Bitcoin as it approaches the $90,000 level.
