Bitcoin Has 92,272 Millionaires as Crypto Wealth Spreads Globally

The world now has 135,694 crypto millionaires, including more than 92,000 whose fortunes are tied to bitcoin, according to Henley & Partners’ Crypto Wealth Report 2026.

Henley & Partners’ Crypto Wealth Report 2026 estimates that 135,694 individuals worldwide hold at least $1 million in digital assets, with 92,272 of them classified as bitcoin millionaires.

Scale of Crypto Wealth

The report identifies 290 investors with holdings above $100 million and 23 crypto billionaires, nine of whom derive their wealth primarily from bitcoin. The total market value of crypto assets was about $2.6 trillion as of 31 August 2026, with bitcoin accounting for roughly $1.6 trillion.

Broadening Ownership

Beyond the millionaire tier, an estimated 742 million people hold some form of digital asset, including 371 million bitcoin holders. This expansion continues despite bitcoin trading roughly 38 % below its October 2025 peak.

Geographic Shifts in Wealth

Portable digital fortunes are influencing residency decisions. Singapore leads Henley’s 2026 Crypto Adoption Index, followed by the UAE, Hong Kong, the United States and Switzerland. The UAE scores highest for tax friendliness, while the United States receives a perfect score for public adoption.

Regulatory Landscape

Seventy‑six jurisdictions have committed to the OECD’s crypto‑asset reporting framework, with the first exchange of information among 46 jurisdictions scheduled for September 2027. This tightening of reporting rules is expected to affect residence, taxation and regulatory planning for high‑net‑worth crypto investors.
