A $70.1 million outflow ended the two-session divide, but one day cannot settle whether demand is retreating. The post Bitcoin keeps whipsawing around $77,000, and ETF investors are doing the same appeared first on CryptoSlate.

Spot Bitcoin exchange‑traded funds (ETFs) have been alternating between large inflows and outflows over the past four trading sessions, mirroring Bitcoin’s own price volatility around the $77,000 level.
Bitcoin ETF flows swing day‑to‑day
According to SoSoValue data, Bitcoin ETFs attracted $101.2 million on September 2 after a $236.5 million outflow the previous day. The pattern follows $216.7 million of inflows on August 31 and $201.9 million of withdrawals on August 28, leaving the sector without a clear directional trend.
Bitcoin price moves in tandem
Bitcoin’s price closed at about $80,268 on August 27, fell to $77,821 the next day, rebounded to $78,553 on August 31, and slipped back toward $77,300 by September 2.
Overall ETF capital remains strong
Despite the short‑term swings, Bitcoin ETFs have accumulated more than $3 billion in fresh capital over the past 30 days, contributing to a 22 % price increase for BTC during that period.
Altcoin ETFs show a contrasting trend
Ethereum, XRP and Solana ETFs had enjoyed consecutive days of net inflows—12, 11 and 11 sessions respectively—before recording outflows on September 2. The outflows were modest: roughly $48 million from Ethereum funds, $7.2 million from XRP funds, and $6 million from Solana funds.
These reversals ended cumulative net inflow totals of about $13.03 billion for Ethereum, $1.68 billion for XRP, and $1.34 billion for Solana.
Newer altcoin products remain flat
ETF groups focused on newer assets such as Hyperliquid and BNB reported zero net flows on the same day.
Outlook
The next sessions will indicate whether altcoin ETF buying resumes or if Bitcoin’s return to inflows signals a broader shift in investor demand across crypto ETFs.
