Bitcoin’s Realized Cap Contracts for First Time in a Month as Price Hovers Near $76,500

Bitcoin stayed near $76,500 on Sept. 17 while its Realized Cap fell for the first time in 28 days and U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded two consecutive days of net outflows, prompting analysts to watch the $71,300 support level.

Bitcoin traded around $76,458 on Sept. 17, just below the $76,700 True Market Mean identified by Glassnode. The price held near this on‑chain cost‑basis reference, but two demand‑related metrics showed weakening momentum.

Realized Cap contraction

Glassnode reported that Bitcoin’s Realized Cap, which values each coin at the price of its last movement, posted its first daily decline in 28 days on Sept. 15 after 27 days of growth. A further decline was noted on Sept. 16. The contraction indicates that coins are being repriced lower on this metric, not that cash is leaving the blockchain.

Spot ETF outflows

Farside Investors recorded net outflows from U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange‑traded funds of $450.4 million on Sept. 15 and $295.9 million on Sept. 16. These figures reflect fund activity but do not directly translate to cash exiting the Bitcoin network.

Key support levels

Glassnode highlighted $71,300 as the next important cost‑basis level, representing the average acquisition price for short‑term holders. Below that, a broader on‑chain support zone is identified between $62,000 and $65,000.

Recovery test

According to Glassnode, two consecutive daily closes above $76,700 combined with renewed Realized Cap growth would restore the prior range and ease demand‑contraction concerns. Conversely, a second close below the threshold would confirm a break and shift focus to the $71,300 level.

Overall, Bitcoin remains near a critical test point: reclaiming $76,700 with improving Realized Cap would support resilience, while failure could leave the market leaning on the identified support zones.
