Bitwise Introduces Self‑Custodied Tokenized Stock Portfolios on Coinbase

Bitwise Asset Management announced the rollout of automated, self‑custodied portfolios built on Coinbase’s newly launched tokenized US stocks. The service targets eligible investors outside the United States, allowing them to follow predefined investment strategies while retaining direct control of the underlying tokens.

How the Portfolios Work

The portfolios use tokenized shares of US companies listed on Coinbase. Bitwise defines the model allocations, and Glider executes trades and rebalances holdings automatically to keep each user’s wallet aligned with the chosen strategy.

Available Strategies

• Mag7X – a blend of leading technology and consumer brands.
• Robotics – focused on companies driving automation.
• AI Leaders – targeting firms at the forefront of artificial intelligence.

Each strategy includes tokens such as Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, Tesla and SpaceX.

Fees and Custody

Bitwise charges a 0.15% methodology access fee. Trading and Glider platform fees are applied separately. Unlike traditional funds, the tokenized stocks remain in the investor’s non‑custodial wallet, giving users the ability to deploy the assets in DeFi protocols for lending or borrowing, subject to associated risks.

Tokenized US stocks on Coinbase now represent $2.49 billion in value, a 5.18% increase over the past month, with 2.25 million holders and $27.28 billion in monthly transfer volume, according to data from rwa.xyz. The launch follows Coinbase’s recent activation of tokenized stocks on the Base network, which enables 24/7 trading and DeFi integration for eligible non‑US users.
