Blockworks Enables Exchanges to Receive AI‑Generated Compliance Alerts
Agentic Detection, live Thursday in Messari Monitoring, lets a listings or compliance desk take a development the moment Blockworks' agents find it, before an analyst has checked it. Every alert carries a tag saying whether an agent or an analyst produced it.

Blockworks has launched a new feature called Agentic Detection that allows crypto exchanges, custodians and other financial desks to receive compliance alerts directly from artificial‑intelligence agents, without waiting for a human analyst to verify the information.
How the system works
Agentic Detection is integrated into Messari Monitoring, the asset‑monitoring product Blockworks acquired with Messari. Each alert is tagged either “Agent‑detected” or “Analyst‑verified.” By default, users see analyst‑verified alerts, but they can switch on the agent‑detected view for any monitoring pane.
Speed versus verification
Analyst verification previously took about five minutes per development. The proprietary AI model, trained on seven years of Messari analyst work, now flags events in seconds, giving desks near‑real‑time information that can be used for listing, delisting and surveillance decisions.
Data sources and taxonomy
The agents ingest information from more than 1,000 news sources, as well as X (formerly Twitter), GitHub, governance forums, Discord, Telegram, project blogs and other channels. Each event is classified using Messari’s taxonomy, which includes 12 top‑level categories such as security incidents, legal and regulatory updates, token supply changes, and token listings, with roughly 55 sub‑categories used by the AI.
Delivery mechanisms
Alerts can be delivered via Slack, email, mobile push notifications, webhooks, an API, and Telegram. Integration with tools like PagerDuty and Jira is also supported.
Adoption
Blockworks says a majority of tier‑one exchanges and custodians use the Monitoring product, though specific customers were not disclosed. The feature addresses the difficulty many firms face when trying to build similar monitoring capabilities in‑house, particularly around source access and maintenance.
Background
Blockworks acquired Messari in June for over $10 million, rebranding the Monitoring service under the Blockworks name while retaining the Messari brand on the product page. The company was founded by Jason Yanowitz and Michael Ippolito and is based in New York.
