Bulgaria Passes Law Granting Tax Officials Full Crypto Data Access

Bulgaria’s parliament approved amendments to the Tax and Social Security Procedure Code that give the National Revenue Agency (NRA) direct access to detailed information on crypto‑asset users.

Under the new rules, companies dealing in crypto assets must register with the NRA and report the following user data:

• Full name, address, date and place of birth
• Tax residency and tax identification number

In addition, firms must submit transaction‑level details for each crypto asset, including total gross amounts received, unit volumes traded, and counts of fiat‑to‑crypto and crypto‑to‑crypto transactions.

Cross‑border data sharing

The amendments enable tax authorities across the EU and partner jurisdictions to exchange the reported information, closing gaps that previously allowed tax avoidance through digital‑asset activities.
