ARK Invest tokenizes venture fund on Ethereum with Securitize
The ARK Venture Fund is bringing exposure to sought-after private tech companies onchain through Securitize, first on Ethereum then potentially expanding to other chains.

Asset manager ARK Invest is launching a tokenized version of its ARK Venture Fund (ARKVX) on the Ethereum blockchain, using tokenization platform Securitize. The move aims to give eligible investors blockchain‑based access to a portfolio that includes private and public technology companies such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Stripe and Databricks.
How the tokenization works
ARKVX will issue tokenized interests that represent a holder’s share of the fund. Securitize will handle the on‑chain issuance, daily net asset value calculation, and the investor experience. The tokens will initially be available on Ethereum, with the possibility of expanding to additional networks.
Strategic partnership
The collaboration builds on a strategic investment ARK made in Securitize last year. Both firms see tokenization as a way to democratize access to disruptive technology investments while keeping the underlying private assets off‑chain.
Industry context
Wall Street asset managers are increasingly exploring blockchain rails for traditional products. Earlier tokenized offerings focused on U.S. Treasuries and money‑market instruments, but funds like ARKVX extend the approach to equities and private‑market exposure. Recent regulatory developments, including a five‑year SEC “innovation exemption” for certain tokenized U.S. stocks, provide a clearer pathway for such experiments.
