Charles Schwab to Add Solana, Avalanche and Chainlink to Schwab Crypto Platform

Charles Schwab will expand its Schwab Crypto offering beyond Bitcoin and Ether by adding Solana, Avalanche and Chainlink in the coming months.

U.S. financial services firm Charles Schwab announced that its Schwab Crypto platform will include three additional digital assets – Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX) and Chainlink (LINK) – within the next few months. The move broadens the brokerage’s crypto lineup, which currently supports only Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH).

Current crypto offering

Schwab Crypto launched for retail clients in May, allowing direct trading of BTC and ETH alongside traditional investments through the Schwab website, mobile app and the thinkorswim platform. The service charges a fee of 0.75% (75 basis points) on the dollar value of each trade.

Geographic availability

The platform is available to customers in all U.S. states except New York and Louisiana, and it is not offered in U.S. territories or internationally.

Future expansion and related products

Schwab indicated that more cryptocurrencies and digital assets will be added over time, though no further specifics or timelines were provided. In parallel, the firm is preparing to launch prediction contracts tied to the S&P 500 index through a partnership with Cboe Global Markets, with an expected rollout in the coming months.

Company context

As of July 31, Schwab managed $13.04 trillion in client assets across nearly 40 million active brokerage accounts. The firm reported record second‑quarter net revenue of $7.1 billion and net income of $2.8 billion.
