Circle launches native USDC, EURC and CCTP support on Plasma

The deployment gives developers Circle-issued dollar and euro tokens plus a burn-and-mint route for moving USDC across supported chains.

Circle has added native support for its USDC and EURC stablecoins on the Plasma blockchain, alongside integration of the Cross‑Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) and a Bridge Kit for developers.

Native token deployment

On August 28 Circle published mainnet contract addresses for USDC and EURC on Plasma. The contracts show a total supply of 4,654,322.737666 USDC held by six addresses and 12,866.64 EURC held by five addresses.

Developer tools and cross‑chain transfers

CCTP moves USDC by burning tokens on the source chain, generating a signed attestation from Circle, and minting the same amount on the destination chain. This eliminates the need for wrapped USDC representations and liquidity pools. Circle’s Bridge Kit packages the process, allowing a cross‑chain transfer to be integrated with roughly ten lines of code.

Access and usage on Plasma

Eligible institutional traders and teams can use fiat on‑ramps and off‑ramps for USDC payments and settlement, as well as deposit, withdrawal and API functionality on Plasma. Users can also access USDC through Plasma One, the network’s stablecoin app and card, while developers can integrate both USDC and EURC into Plasma applications.

Broader ecosystem impact

Following the launch, Circle lists USDC as natively supported on 37 blockchains, EURC on eight blockchains, and CCTP on 28 blockchains.
