Clearpool Targets XRP Ledger Credit Market With Token Overhaul
Clearpool plans to bring institutional lending infrastructure to the XRP Ledger while replacing CPOOL with a proposed CLEAR token. The overhaul would recapitalize its treasury and fund incentives intended to support the network expansion.

Clearpool announced a proposal to expand its institutional lending platform onto the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and to replace its existing CPOOL token with a new token called CLEAR.
Institutional Lending on XRPL
The company aims to build native lending infrastructure on XRPL, targeting institutional borrowers and lenders. The plan follows an existing credit initiative that involves Ripple and Cicada Partners, where Clearpool provides the technology, Cicada handles loan origination and credit management, and Ripple contributes investment capital.
Token Migration and Treasury Recapitalization
Clearpool proposes a 1:1 migration from CPOOL to CLEAR, preserving holders’ token balances. The proposal includes a recapitalization of the treasury to fund incentives for network growth and a buy‑back‑and‑burn mechanism funded by half of protocol fees.
Governance Process
Community members will have a 14‑day discussion period before a token‑holder vote on Snapshot. Until the vote passes, the migration, supply schedule, and treasury changes remain proposals.
Technical Framework
The XRPL product would use the ledger’s proposed XLS‑65 Single Asset Vault and XLS‑66 Lending Protocol standards, with loans denominated in the stablecoin RLUSD. The design focuses on fixed‑term, underwritten institutional credit rather than typical over‑collateralized DeFi lending.
Current Status
Clearpool has tested the integration on XRPL Devnet, where transactions carry no monetary value. Mainnet deployment will require validator approval of the XLS‑65 and XLS‑66 amendments.
