Dormant Bitcoin Wallets Move $50 Million in Early September
During the first five days of September, dormant Bitcoin wallets transferred 626.74 BTC—worth over $50 million—while the overall pace of vintage coin activity slowed compared to August.

Key Transfers
Eight wallets created in 2013 each sent 25 BTC within a 25‑second window at block height 965625. The transfers, identified by btcparser.com, appear to be from a single owner and were sent to the custodian BitGo, according to Arkham Intelligence.
Excluding the BitGo transfers, a separate transaction on September 2 moved 146.05 BTC. The largest single day spend came from 2013 wallets, totaling 346.07 BTC across nine transfers.
Older Wallet Activity
Three wallets dating back to 2011 moved 90.50 BTC on September 3. One of these wallets held 80 BTC originally acquired on November 5, 2011, when Bitcoin traded at $3.15; its value grew to roughly $7.22 million at current prices.

September’s dormant‑coin transfers represent only 9.75 % of the volume seen in August. August’s average daily spend from vintage wallets was about 214.25 BTC, whereas September’s average daily spend so far is roughly 125.34 BTC.
