Fidelity drives $310 M inflow into Bitcoin ETFs, offsetting mid‑week outflows

Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $433 M of net inflows on Friday, led by Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund, which added $310.7 M, while BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust contributed $108.4 M.

U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange‑traded funds (ETFs) attracted $433 million of net inflows on Friday, September 18, extending a two‑day rebound after a mid‑week outflow streak.

Fidelity leads Friday’s inflows

Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) supplied $310.7 million, nearly 2.9 times the $108.4 million added by BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). Smaller positive flows came from Bitwise’s BITB, ARK 21Shares’ ARKB and VanEck’s HODL.

Weekly context

Thursday and Friday together generated $592.5 million of inflows, but investors withdrew $746.3 million on Tuesday and Wednesday, leaving a net gap of $153.8 million for the two‑day period. Over the five‑session week, total net inflows were $6.1 million.

Issuer rankings

Across the full week, BlackRock’s IBIT accumulated $120.6 million, while Fidelity’s FBTC totaled $79.9 million. Despite leading the Friday session, Fidelity remained second to BlackRock in weekly net capital attracted.

Implications

The Friday inflow shows that demand broadened beyond IBIT, but a single session does not confirm a lasting shift in investor allocation. Future sessions will indicate whether Fidelity and other smaller issuers sustain their contributions.
