Friend.tech’s native token FRIEND experienced a dramatic price increase of over 1,500% after a $1 million buyout offer was posted by the trader known as Machi Big Brother.

Friend.tech launched on the Base blockchain in 2023. The token began trading in May 2024 and reached an all‑time high of $3.26 on May 3 2024, according to CoinGecko. In September 2024 the founding team transferred admin and ownership rights to a null address, effectively relinquishing control of the smart contracts.

Recent price performance

After a prolonged decline that saw FRIEND fall to a low of $0.00002225 in July 2026, the token rebounded to around $0.051 following the 1,590% jump on Thursday. Market capitalization rose to approximately $4.89 million from under $300,000, and 24‑hour trading volume surged to $5,627,502, a rise of over 100,000% from the previous day.

Buyout offer from Machi Big Brother

Jeffrey Huang, a Taiwanese‑American trader who posts under the name Machi Big Brother, announced on X that he would purchase Friend.tech for $1 million, stating he only needs the X account and URL. Huang previously accumulated 11 million FRIEND tokens, purchasing them for roughly 5,200 ETH. Those holdings were valued at about $500,000 after a prior price collapse.

Huang is known for heavily leveraged positions across multiple assets. Current open positions include a 24,100 ETH long at 25× leverage, a 499 BTC long at 40× leverage, and a 199,000 HYPE long at 10× leverage, together representing a notional exposure of nearly $117 million. His portfolio shows $2.5 million in unrealized profit, while his cumulative profit‑and‑loss stands at a negative $24.72 million.
