Galaxy Digital Adds $100 Million of sUSDS to Corporate Treasury

Galaxy Digital has allocated $100 million of Sky Protocol’s yield‑bearing sUSDS to its corporate treasury, making the token part of both its own balance sheet and its institutional lending operation.

Galaxy Digital, the Nasdaq‑listed digital‑asset firm, announced that it has moved $100 million of Sky Protocol’s yield‑bearing savings token, sUSDS, onto its corporate balance sheet. The allocation also makes sUSDS eligible as collateral for the firm’s institutional loan portfolio.

DeFi Yield Integrated into Treasury

The $100 million position was funded directly from Galaxy’s own balance sheet. In addition, the firm acquired an undisclosed amount of SKY, the governance token of Sky Protocol, as part of the transaction.

sUSDS as Institutional Collateral

Under the new arrangement, Galaxy’s institutional clients can post sUSDS as loan collateral while the full amount continues to earn the Sky Savings Rate. This allows borrowers to earn yield and secure financing simultaneously. Galaxy’s lending business manages an average loan book of roughly $1.4 billion, giving the integration significant scale.

Existing Financing Relationship

The treasury allocation builds on a prior partnership in which Grove, a prime agent in the Sky ecosystem, provides Galaxy with a $500 million warehouse‑lending facility. Grove supplies USDS capital through a dedicated vehicle that finances institutional loans originated by Galaxy and secured by digital assets.

Impact on Sky Protocol

At the end of Q2 2026, sUSDS supply reached $5.52 billion, up 149 % year‑over‑year. Sky reported five consecutive profitable quarters, with Q2 gross revenue of $107.35 million and a net surplus of $33.29 million. Following the announcement, SKY token price rose to $0.0757, later settling around $0.0745, and remained up 7.5 % over 24 hours.

Broader Significance

Galaxy’s move places a DeFi savings product on the balance sheet of a public company, uses it as loan collateral, and incorporates it into its institutional financing stack, signaling a step toward mainstream adoption of on‑chain yield mechanisms.
