Hashkey Becomes First Asian Crypto Service Provider in DTCC Tokenization Working Group
Hashkey joined the DTCC’s working group on tokenization innovation as the first Asian crypto service provider to join with over 100 financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan.

Hashkey has been admitted to the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation’s (DTCC) Digital Assets Advisory Services Industry Working Group, marking the first participation of an Asian digital‑asset service provider in the forum.
Purpose of the Working Group
The DTCC working group brings together more than 100 global banks, asset managers and market infrastructure firms to shape standards for issuing, settling and safeguarding tokenized assets at an institutional scale. Participants include major institutions such as JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Nasdaq and the New York Stock Exchange.
DTCC’s Role and Upcoming Plans
As a core post‑trade infrastructure provider for traditional markets, DTCC custodies roughly $114 trillion in liquid assets, including equities and ETFs. The group aims to bridge traditional finance with decentralized finance (DeFi) infrastructure and plans to launch access to tokenized securities in October.
Regulatory Context
In December, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission issued a “no‑action” letter to a DTCC subsidiary, allowing it to pilot a securities‑market tokenization service. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins has indicated that the agency may consider an innovation exemption to facilitate on‑chain market transitions without overly burdensome regulation.
