Former Crypto Partner Sentenced for Concealing $2.6 Million
Iris Rabaya Au received an 18‑month federal prison term after pleading guilty to filing a false tax return and hiding more than $2.6 million obtained through her ex‑boyfriend Adam Iza’s criminal scheme.

Iris Rabaya Au, a 37‑year‑old from Irvine, California, was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for filing a false tax return and for failing to report over $2.6 million that she received through a financial operation linked to her former boyfriend, self‑styled crypto businessman Adam Iza.
Financial Scheme and Unreported Income
Prosecutors said Au created shell corporations and bank accounts that moved more than $2.6 million from company accounts into her personal accounts between 2020 and 2023. The funds were not reported on her federal tax returns, leading to the false‑return charge.
Restitution and Asset Forfeiture
U.S. District Judge Percy Anderson ordered Au to pay $1,484,343 in restitution and to forfeit a range of luxury items, including high‑performance cars, designer handbags, and three sculptures titled “Godfather.”
Broader Criminal Context
Au’s activities supported Iza’s broader fraud operations. She facilitated the purchase of approximately $16 million in cryptocurrency for Iza and helped fund payments to Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies, luxury property, vehicles, jewelry, and other personal expenses. Iza faces separate sentencing for wire fraud, tax evasion, and other charges.
Related Law‑Enforcement Misconduct
Investigations also revealed misuse of police powers by deputies who obtained confidential information and search warrants for Iza’s personal disputes. A former deputy, David Anthony Rodriguez, received a one‑year prison sentence for using a false warrant to locate a private client’s cell phone.
