HyperLabs to withdraw $36 million of HYPE tokens on Sept 6

On August 30, a wallet linked to HyperLabs – the development team behind the Hyperliquid protocol – submitted an unstaking request for 433,000 HYPE tokens. The request places the tokens into a seven‑day exit queue, meaning they should become transferable on September 6, assuming the protocol processes the request on schedule.

Unstaking mechanics

Hyperliquid’s staking system requires a seven‑day waiting period before staked tokens can be moved to a spot balance. During this period the tokens are locked but not yet in circulation. Once the queue clears, the holder can transfer, restake, use as collateral, provide liquidity, or simply hold the tokens.

Previous withdrawal pattern

The same HyperLabs address previously unlocked roughly 433,000 HYPE (valued at about $23.5 million at that time). A portion of that batch – 165,000 HYPE – was sent to the market‑making platform Flowdesk, with further transfers to exchange deposit addresses on OKX and Bybit. While that history suggests Flowdesk could be involved again, there is no on‑chain evidence confirming the destination of the current batch.

Potential market impact

The $36 million valuation represents a small share of HYPE’s total supply, but the size of the unstaking request draws attention because it makes a large amount of previously locked tokens transferable. Unstaking alone does not constitute selling pressure; a sale would be evident only after the tokens are swapped for stablecoins or moved to exchange deposit addresses.
