Japan’s Remixpoint sells altcoins, keeps 1,506 BTC as sole crypto holding

Remixpoint sold $5.5 million in ETH, SOL, XRP and DOGE, booking a $736,000 net gain as it narrowed its crypto strategy to focus on Bitcoin.

Remixpoint, one of Japan’s largest corporate Bitcoin holders, has liquidated its entire altcoin portfolio, leaving roughly 1,506 BTC (about $115 million) as its only cryptocurrency asset.

Altcoin liquidation details

The company sold its holdings of Ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP and Dogecoin (DOGE) for a total of 878.8 million yen (≈ $5.5 million). The transaction generated a net gain of 117.8 million yen (≈ $736 000). Gains were recorded on the ETH, SOL and XRP sales, while the DOGE sale incurred a loss of 3.26 million yen (≈ $20 000).

Remaining Bitcoin position

After the sale, Remixpoint’s crypto balance consists solely of about 1,506 BTC, valued at roughly $115 million. The firm is Japan’s third‑largest corporate Bitcoin holder.

Rationale and future outlook

Remixpoint cited market conditions, risk‑return considerations and its broader financial strategy as reasons for exiting altcoins. The company said concentrating on Bitcoin will “clarify investment strategy” and “improve capital efficiency.”

Additional Bitcoin activity

Between February 24 and August 31, Remixpoint earned 14.92 BTC from lending activities, valued at 164.2 million yen (≈ $1 million). The gain from the altcoin sales is expected to be booked in the second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027.
