Kalshi adds five crypto perpetual contracts for U.S. traders

Kalshi has launched perpetual contracts for BNB, ADA, WLD, AAVE and VVV, expanding regulated crypto derivatives access for U.S. traders.

Kalshi announced the addition of five new crypto perpetual contracts—BNB, ADA, WLD, AAVE and VVV—available to eligible U.S. traders. The contracts are margined and settled in U.S. dollars, have no expiration date, and allow both long and short positions.

Product details and leverage

Each perpetual contract uses dollar‑denominated margin. Maximum leverage varies by asset, reaching up to 4.5× for BNB and 1.9× for VVV. Traders can take leveraged positions, but must monitor margin requirements and the risk of liquidation.

Existing Kalshi crypto offerings

With the new additions, Kalshi’s lineup now includes Bitcoin and seventeen altcoin perpetual contracts. Current offerings also cover Ether, XRP, Solana, Hyperliquid, Zcash, Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, among others.

Regulatory context

Kalshi operates as a CFTC‑regulated designated contract market. The contracts were introduced after filing product details with the CFTC, though a filing does not necessarily indicate a formal commission vote approving each contract. The legal classification of crypto perpetuals remains contested, highlighted by CME Group’s lawsuit challenging the CFTC’s treatment of these products as futures rather than swaps.

Future outlook

Kalshi may continue to expand its product suite, with filings for assets such as XLM, DOT and HBAR pending. Ongoing legal developments, including the CFTC’s motion to dismiss CME’s challenge, could influence the regulatory landscape for crypto derivatives in the United States.
