MEXC Stock Futures Volume in Asia Jumps Over 3,300% in Q2
MEXC’s average daily stock futures volume in Asia surged 3,308% quarter over quarter, driven by growing demand for equities, gold and other traditional assets on crypto exchanges.

MEXC reported a dramatic rise in average daily stock futures volume across Asia during the second quarter, increasing 3,308% from the previous quarter. The growth reflects a broader shift among Asian crypto users toward trading traditional assets such as equities and precious metals on centralized exchanges (CEXs).
Regional Growth Patterns
According to Blockworks Research, the number of stock futures traders in Asia rose 386% from Q1 2026. Southeast Asia led the surge with a 6,648% increase in volume and a 399% rise in traders. East Asia also posted strong gains, with volume up 1,957% and traders up 465%.
Continued Momentum in Q3
Through August, average daily volume across Asia grew another 102% versus Q2, while the trader count rose 51%. East Asian volume jumped 186%, compared with a 50% increase in Southeast Asia.
Futures Outpacing Spot Markets
Futures tied to real‑world assets, foreign exchange and tokenized stocks accounted for more than 12% of futures volume, versus less than 2% of spot volume on CEXs. In July, these futures generated close to $400 billion, the highest monthly total in the period reviewed. Tokenized‑stock contracts drove most of the growth, with MEXC and BingX each handling roughly 20% of that segment’s volume.
User Intent and Market Drivers
- 87.2% of surveyed Asian users plan to increase TradFi trading on CEXs.
- 61.5% cite limited brokerage hours as a barrier to traditional trading.
- 53.8% view brokerage fees as high, and 42.6% find account opening procedures complex.
Spot Trading Trends
Spot stock trading also grew, though at a smaller scale. In Southeast Asia, daily spot users rose 153% and volume 348% in Q2, with further increases in Q3.
Implications for Traders
Round‑the‑clock crypto platforms allow users to take long or short positions without expiry, but leverage introduces liquidation risk. Limited user knowledge (51.2% of respondents) remains the top barrier to broader adoption, followed by market volatility, regulatory uncertainty and liquidity concerns.
