NFT Sales Surge 170% to $95.5M Driven Largely by $55M Pandora Transaction

Global NFT sales jumped 170% to $95.48 million over a seven-day period, heavily influenced by a single $55.03 million transaction involving the hybrid project Pandora.

Global NFT Market Overview

The global NFT market recorded $95.48 million in sales over a recent seven-day period, representing a 170% increase compared to the previous period's approximately $35.29 million. Total transactions grew by 7.5% to 962,992, while buyer addresses climbed 49% to 172,739 and seller addresses reached 159,275. The figures resulted in an average transaction value of roughly $99, up from about $39 during the preceding period.

Despite the headline growth, market analysts noted that the sharp increase in dollar volume was concentrated in a single transaction rather than reflecting a broad market-wide surge of equivalent size. Excluding the impact of the hybrid project Pandora, the rest of the market generated roughly $40.28 million.

Pandora and Hybrid Token Impact

The hybrid NFT project Pandora dominated weekly rankings, generating $55.21 million from just nine transactions. A single sale of Pandora #107314 accounted for $55.03 million of that volume. Pandora utilizes the experimental ERC-404 model, combining features of fungible ERC-20 tokens and non-fungible ERC-721 assets to provide liquidity through a linked fungible token.

Because of this structure, transactions involving hybrid tokens or tokenized positions require additional context when interpreting total collectible demand compared to traditional one-of-one artwork or profile-picture items.

Performance Across Blockchains

Ethereum led all blockchains with $70.81 million in NFT sales—accounting for roughly 74% of global volume—alongside $592,451 in wash trading. Without Pandora's contribution, Ethereum's organic NFT sales were approximately $15.61 million.

  • Polygon: Ranked second with $10.91 million in sales, accompanied by $20.46 million in wash volume.
  • Base: Placed third with $4.59 million in sales, up 107%, alongside $4.80 million in wash activity.
  • BNB Chain: Followed with $3.47 million in sales, representing a 93% increase.
  • Solana: Generated $1.89 million, down 24% despite a 111.5% increase in buyer addresses.
