Asset Managers Ready for XRP Ledger Batch V1.1 Upgrade

Ripple announced that asset managers and other commercial projects are gearing up to use the upcoming Batch V1.1 feature on the XRP Ledger. The upgrade allows up to eight linked transactions to be processed together, ensuring that either all succeed or none do.

How Batch V1.1 Works

Batch V1.1 introduces an “all‑or‑nothing” mode that groups multiple transactions into a single atomic operation. This is designed to support delivery‑versus‑payment (DvP) use cases, where an asset transfer and its payment must occur simultaneously.

Potential Use Cases

• Exchanges, wallets, and marketplaces can attach service fees directly to a customer payment, processing both as one transaction.
• Asset managers can build DvP workflows that avoid partial settlement risks.

Activation Timeline

The amendment has received support from 30 of the 35 tracked validators, exceeding the 28 votes required to start the activation countdown. The countdown began on September 15 at 14:06:41 UTC and is set to end on September 29, provided validator support stays at or above 80 % for the full 14‑day window.

Security Review and Redesign

Batch V1.0 was withdrawn after a critical flaw in its signature‑validation process was discovered in February. RippleX conducted an extensive redesign, expanding the security review to include internal adversarial testing, AI‑assisted analysis, a Sherlock attack contest, and assessments by Halborn and Common Prefix. The revised code was released in xrpld version 3.3.0 on August 6 and is now under validator vote.

Next Steps

RippleX will share details about specific partners and launch timing once Batch V1.1 becomes active. The upgrade is expected to move projects that are already being built with the feature into production.
