Stand With Crypto endorses 32 House members who backed the CLARITY Act

Stand With Crypto, a grassroots organization launched by Coinbase in 2023, announced endorsements for 32 incumbent members of the U.S. House of Representatives. All of the endorsed lawmakers voted for the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act (CLARITY Act) when it passed the House in July 2025.

The endorsement list includes Republicans such as Tom Emmer (MN), Bill Huizenga (MI), Juan Ciscomani (AZ) and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA), as well as Democrats like Ritchie Torres (NY) and Josh Gottheimer (NJ). By using the CLARITY Act vote as the sole criterion, Stand With Crypto separates its election activity from party affiliation.

Organizing capacity and voter outreach

Stand With Crypto reports more than 3 million registered advocates across the United States. The group emphasizes voter outreach and mobilization rather than large independent campaign expenditures. Executive Director Mason Lynaugh said the organization aims to return lawmakers who supported the bill to Congress and plans to announce Senate endorsements later in the election cycle.

Legislative context of the CLARITY Act

The CLARITY Act would split oversight of digital assets between the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, establishing rules for crypto exchanges and other market participants. Although the House approved the bill 294‑134, it remains stalled in the Senate amid disagreements over stablecoin rewards, DeFi oversight, anti‑money‑laundering provisions and ethics restrictions.

Crypto industry spending in the 2026 midterms

Crypto‑linked political groups have committed close to $200 million to the 2026 midterm cycle, according to Reuters. Public Citizen estimates that crypto companies contributed about $189 million, roughly 37 % of all corporate political contributions tracked for the period. Major spenders include the Fairshake network, Defend American Jobs and Protect Progress.

Potential impact on competitive races

Several endorsed incumbents are in districts considered competitive, such as Huizenga in Michigan’s 4th Congressional District and Ciscomani in Arizona. Lynaugh suggested that Stand With Crypto’s volunteer outreach could be decisive in close contests, though no specific forecasts were disclosed.

If the Senate does not pass the CLARITY Act before the current session ends, the proposal would need to be reintroduced in the new Congress convening in January 2027.
