Strategy buys 4,603 BTC after two-month pause
Strategy bought 4,603 Bitcoin for $369.7 million using MSTR share-sale proceeds, lifting its corporate holdings to 845,050 BTC.

Strategy, the Virginia‑based firm led by Michael Saylor, resumed Bitcoin accumulation in the week of Aug. 24‑30, purchasing 4,603 BTC for $369.7 million. The buy raised the company’s total Bitcoin balance to 845,050 BTC.
Purchase details
The acquisition cost an average of $80,318 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses. Combined with prior holdings, the total cost basis for all Bitcoin owned by Strategy is $63.73 billion, or an average of $75,412 per coin.
Funding the acquisition
Strategy financed the purchase through its at‑the‑market common‑stock offering, selling 4,531,421 MSTR shares and generating $602.8 million in net proceeds. Of that amount, $369.7 million was allocated to Bitcoin, $151.8 million to repurchasing STRC preferred shares, $50.7 million to STRC dividends, and $30 million to unrestricted USD cash.
Impact on other assets
During the same week Strategy repurchased 1,557,177 STRC shares for $151.8 million, at an average price of about $97.48 per share. The company retained $364.8 million of authorization for further STRC repurchases and a separate $1 billion authorization for additional MSTR sales.
Liquidity position
Strategy reported a combined $6.71 billion in its restricted reserve ($5.10 billion) and unrestricted cash ($1.61 billion) as of Aug. 30. The board‑designated reserve supports preferred‑stock dividends and debt interest, while the cash account can be used for further Bitcoin purchases or other corporate needs.
Market reaction
On the Monday following the filing, MSTR traded near $127.31, down about 7.4% from the prior Friday’s close. Bitcoin was priced around $78,023, roughly 2.9% below Strategy’s latest average purchase price.
Future outlook
Strategy retains the ability to sell up to $19.09 billion of MSTR under its existing offering program, providing flexibility for additional Bitcoin purchases, cash reserves, or preferred‑stock actions. The next SEC filing will indicate whether the firm continues its accumulation strategy.
