Strategy adds 950 Bitcoin in $75 million purchase

Strategy made its first weekly Bitcoin purchases in about three weeks, buying 950 BTC for $75.7 million.

MicroStrategy (MSTR) resumed buying Bitcoin last week, acquiring 950 BTC for a total of $75.7 million. The purchase marks the company’s first weekly Bitcoin acquisition since late August.

Purchase details

The Bitcoin was bought at an average price of $79,670 per coin. Funding came from the sale of $80.1 million of common stock, as disclosed in a regulatory filing.

Use of proceeds

After the stock sale, the remaining proceeds were allocated to repurchase $174 million of the company’s STRC preferred stock and to strengthen cash reserves.

Current holdings

Led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, MicroStrategy now holds approximately 846,000 BTC, acquired for a cumulative $63.81 billion at an average cost of $74,417 per coin.

Market reaction

MSTR shares rose about 7 % in pre‑market trading, while Bitcoin traded near $84,500, up roughly 4.5 % over the prior 24 hours.
