Trump Team Pulls Millions From TRUMP Memecoin Liquidity Pools During Price Rally
Trump-linked wallets pulled USDC from TRUMP liquidity pools again this week, extending a pattern LookOnChain first tracked in 2025.
On-chain analyst LookOnChain reported that wallets associated with the TRUMP memecoin team withdrew $3.39 million worth of USDC from the token’s Solana liquidity pools within a ten‑hour window. The withdrawal occurred as the TRUMP token experienced a sharp price rally.
How the Team Moves Funds
The team does not sell TRUMP directly on open markets. Instead, it places TRUMP tokens into single‑sided liquidity positions on Meteora, a Solana‑based decentralized exchange. When traders swap within the pool’s price range, the pool automatically converts TRUMP to USDC. The team then extracts the USDC and bridges it to centralized exchanges such as Coinbase.
Historical Pattern
LookOnChain first identified this liquidity‑removal mechanism in April 2025, when the team pulled $4.6 million USDC from a similar pool and later moved the funds to Ethereum and Coinbase Prime. By December 2025, the same wallets had withdrawn $94 million over a 30‑day period, with transfers ranging from $2 million to $17.2 million into Fireblocks custody addresses linked to Coinbase.
Impact on Retail Holders
Retail investors have absorbed much of the downside from these actions. BeInCrypto reported that roughly one million TRUMP buyers collectively hold about $3.81 billion in unrealized losses since the token’s launch.
Potential Future Moves
The team has indicated plans to release up to 96 million TRUMP tokens from its unlocked supply in the coming months. While removing liquidity does not automatically trigger a price crash, thinner pools increase vulnerability to sharp price swings, especially when headline‑driven rallies occur.
