Upbit launches BFC trading against KRW and USDT

Upbit opened Bifrost trading against the South Korean won and USDT on Sept. 10, giving BFC two additional markets on South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume.

Upbit added two new trading pairs for the Bifrost token (BFC) on September 10, 2026, allowing trades against the South Korean won (KRW) and USDT. The launch followed Upbit’s standard opening‑price controls for newly listed assets.

Launch details and initial restrictions

Trading for BFC/KRW and BFC/USDT began at 13:45 Korea Standard Time (04:45 UTC). For the first five minutes, buy orders were disabled and sell orders priced more than 10 % below the previous BTC‑denominated closing price were restricted. During the first two hours only limit orders were accepted; market orders and other conditional types were unavailable.

Deposit and withdrawal requirements

Upbit supports deposits and withdrawals exclusively on the Bifrost Network. Transfers via other blockchains are not credited and may require a lengthy recovery process. Deposits must also comply with South Korea’s Travel Rule and Upbit’s AML verification procedures.

Bifrost ecosystem overview

BFC serves as a utility token within the Bifrost multichain middleware platform. The network, built on Substrate and compatible with the Ethereum API, offers a Bitcoin‑backed DeFi service called BTCFi, which lets users lock Bitcoin as collateral to mint a stablecoin (BtcUSD) for lending and yield applications.

Future considerations

After the temporary order limits expire, BFC can trade with all standard order types in the KRW and USDT markets. Upbit has not announced additional network support or further listing deadlines. Ongoing liquidity and price stability will depend on market activity and compliance conditions.
