Wall Street Raises Targets for Coinbase and MicroStrategy Amid Crypto Rally

Goldman Sachs and Canaccord Genuity lifted price targets for Coinbase (COIN) and MicroStrategy (MSTR) respectively, keeping Buy ratings as crypto‑linked equities rally.

Two Wall Street analysts upgraded their price targets for major crypto‑linked stocks on Tuesday, reflecting recent gains in the sector.

Goldman Sachs lifts Coinbase target

Goldman Sachs raised its price target for Coinbase (COIN) to $196, up from $173, a roughly 13% increase. The bank highlighted two growth drivers: a potential improvement in the broader crypto environment and strong expansion in Coinbase’s newer businesses, including derivatives and prediction markets. Coinbase closed at $187.16, up 4.28% on the day, leaving the new target about 5% above the closing price.

Canaccord Genuity boosts MicroStrategy target

Canaccord Genuity increased its target for MicroStrategy (MSTR) to $175, up from $130, representing a 38% rise over the Tuesday close of $126.83. The firm noted a markedly brighter outlook for the company in recent weeks. Since August 19, MicroStrategy has risen 34.66%, while Coinbase has gained 27.14%, according to TradingView data.

Context and outlook

Both analysts maintained Buy ratings. Earlier in the summer, analysts had cut targets after a series of earnings misses, but the recent market rally prompted the revisions. Future adjustments may depend on whether the upward momentum continues into September.
