- The “permissioned” record
- “Fooling” the SEC and retail
Crypto researcher Justin Bons has slammed the Ripple-linked XRP Ledger cryptocurrency and several other different main networks, arguing that these are “centralized blockchains” that essentially betray the ethos of the crypto motion.
Bons argued that the trade should draw a tough line towards networks that depend on permissioned parts.
“We should reject all centralized ‘blockchains’!” Bons wrote. “Centralization shouldn’t be the way forward for finance; requiring permission from an authority shouldn’t be decentralized!”

The “permissioned” record
XRPL, Stellar, Hedera, Canton, and Algorand are among the many blockchain networks which were singled out by Bons. He has argued that they depend on “Proof of Authority,” which isn’t true decentralized consensus.
XRP has confronted notably harsh criticism because of its controversial “Distinctive Node Record” (UNL), which is a beneficial record of validators that nodes.
“Ripple: Has a ‘Distinctive Node Record’, which makes the validators successfully permissioned,” Bons defined.
“Fooling” the SEC and retail
The thread sparked rapid backlash from XRP proponents. One consumer accused Bons of a “scary twisting of actuality” concerning XRP’s structure.
Bons fired again, claiming that Ripple’s advertising has efficiently misled each the general public and regulators.
“XRP convincing plenty of ignorant retail traders that they’re extra decentralized than BTC & ETH is the scary actuality right here,” Bons retorted. “Even fooling the SEC & saving their very own asses within the course of. They can not idiot actual crypto researchers; we all know the distinction!”
Based on the researcher, credible neutrality, censorship resistance, privateness, and immutability can solely be achieved on a totally permissionless and decentralized blockchain.
