A JPMorgan Chase buyer has been swindled out of over $35,000 by scammers posing because the financial institution’s anti-fraud officers and the FBI.
Illinois resident Jennifer Lichthardt says she feels violated after criminals used a spoofing scheme to persuade her to switch $35,000 to a Chase account managed by the scammers, reviews ABC 7 Chicago.
All of it started when Lichthardt answered a name that displayed on her cellphone as her financial institution’s quantity.
Says Lichthardt,
“It was the quantity on the again of my Chase debit card, and it mentioned Chase Fraud Division…
