BNB Chain stated a former worker allegedly used an organization tutorial pockets to create a memecoin that the corporate says it didn’t authorize or endorse.
BNB Chain, the blockchain ecosystem behind the BNB cryptocurrency, stated it’s pursuing authorized motion after a former worker allegedly used unauthorized entry to a pockets to launch a memecoin.
In an X submit on Saturday, BNB Chain stated the pockets was initially created for a video tutorial explaining how one can launch tokens on BNB Chain. It stated the previous worker retained unauthorized entry to the pockets’s seed phrase after leaving the corporate and later used the handle to create a brand new token.
Blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain subsequently alleged that the previous worker deployed a meme token known as Asteroid Shiba (ASTEROID) and used 4 newly created wallets to purchase 796.7 million tokens, representing 79.67% of the overall provide. Lookonchain additional alleged that the wallets later offered 718.8 million tokens for 1,103 BNB, price about $638,000 on the time of the transaction.
