Tokyo-listed bitcoin holder Metaplanet isn’t dumping its bitcoin luggage.
Firm CEO Simon Gerovich moved shortly to dismiss reviews of a large sale, clarifying that Wednesday’s massive BTC switch, flagged by blockchain trackers, was merely a “routine custody switch” and never a liquidation.
“We transferred 5,014 BTC between Metaplanet custodial addresses over the previous 24 hours. This was a routine custody operation. No bitcoin was offered, and our holdings stay 43,000 BTC,” Gerovich stated.
On Wednesday, information monitoring corporations flagged the motion of 5,014 BTC, price $320 million on the going spot value, from wallets linked to the agency. That sparked a hypothesis that the agency was getting ready to promote these cash.
