Binance Introduces Long‑Only Options on Selected U.S. Stocks and ETFs

Binance has launched physically settled, long‑only options on a limited set of U.S.‑listed stocks and exchange‑traded funds, with custody and clearing handled by Alpaca Securities and Nest Trading.

Binance rolled out a new options product on September 1, giving eligible users the ability to buy call and put contracts on a curated list of U.S. stocks and ETFs. The contracts are physically settled, meaning exercised options result in the delivery of the underlying shares, which are held in custody by Alpaca Securities.

Product structure and trading limits

The offering is limited to long‑only positions: users can purchase calls or puts but cannot write options or open short positions. Losses are capped at the premium paid for each contract, and only limit orders are accepted in the initial phase.

Brokerage and clearing arrangement

Binance acts as the front‑end platform, while Nest Trading Limited serves as the introducing broker. Alpaca Securities, a U.S.‑regulated broker‑dealer, performs execution, clearing and custody of the underlying shares.

Trading hours and settlement

Most options trade during regular U.S. market hours (9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Eastern), with some ETF and ETN options extending to 4:15 p.m. The product does not support pre‑market or after‑hours trading.

Eligibility and funding

Eligible users must complete an options suitability questionnaire and sign a disclaimer. Funding can be sourced from the Binance Funding Account, Spot Account, or Flexible Earn holdings, using USDC, USDT, USD‑linked stablecoins, or BNB.

Future outlook

Binance has not announced a timeline for adding additional order types, options‑writing capabilities, or a broader set of underlying securities.
