Binance Expands to Offer Physically Settled Options on Over 1,000 U.S. Stocks and ETFs

Binance is expanding beyond crypto with physically settled options tied to more than 1,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs for eligible users outside the country. The launch comes as traditional-asset trading on the exchange has surged this year.

Binance announced that it will launch physically settled options on more than 1,000 U.S.-listed stocks and exchange‑traded funds (ETFs) for eligible non‑U.S. retail traders. The product will be delivered through Nest Trading Limited, a broker‑dealer regulated in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, with execution, clearing, settlement and custody handled by Alpaca Securities, a U.S.-registered firm.

How the Options Work

Users can buy call and put contracts that are settled in the underlying shares. If exercised, the shares are delivered or received from Alpaca’s custody account. Losses are limited to the premium paid for the option.

Eligibility and Exclusions

The service is limited to eligible retail traders outside the United States. U.S. customers are not permitted to access the new options offering.

Context: Growing Demand for Traditional Assets

Binance already provides access to more than 7,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs, tokenized securities (bStocks), and equity‑linked perpetual futures. In the first week of its stock‑trading rollout, emerging‑market users generated over 80 % of direct stock‑trading volume.

Data from Binance shows that traditional‑finance perpetual futures volume reached approximately $433.4 billion in August, nearly fifteen times the $29.5 billion recorded in January. Equity‑linked perpetuals accounted for about 79 % of that activity, with August volume at $342.9 billion, up from $410.9 million in January.

Industry Trend Toward Multi‑Asset Platforms

The move aligns with a broader trend of crypto platforms adding brokerage‑style products. Recent activity includes record daily DEX volume on Robinhood Chain and the launch of tokenized‑stock portfolios by Bitwise that combine Coinbase tokenized equities with automated portfolio tools.

These developments indicate a convergence of crypto exchanges, tokenized securities, and traditional brokerage services into single‑account solutions.
