US spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $1.92 billion last week, their strongest weekly inflow since October 2025, as Bitcoin briefly climbed above $78,000 on Friday.

US spot Bitcoin exchange‑traded funds (ETFs) saw a surge of nearly $2 billion in net inflows last week, marking the strongest weekly performance since October 2025. The inflow coincided with a sharp rise in Bitcoin’s price, which briefly topped $78,000 on Friday.

Weekly inflows and price movement

According to SoSoValue data, Bitcoin ETFs recorded $1.92 billion in net inflows for the week ending Friday. The price of Bitcoin jumped more than 20 % during the same period, moving from around $63,000 at the start of the week to a peak above $79,000 on Friday, as reported by CoinGecko.

Comparison with 2026 flow trends

Despite the recent surge, US spot Bitcoin ETFs have experienced a net outflow of about $2.91 billion so far in 2026. The funds endured their largest monthly outflows in June ($4.51 billion) and May ($2.43 billion). August, however, has delivered $2.38 billion in net inflows to date, the strongest month of the year.

Key contributors

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) accounted for a large share of the recent inflows, attracting roughly $1.33 billion over five trading days. Daily inflows for IBIT rose from $160.2 million on Monday to $503 million on Thursday, before easing to $239.3 million on Friday.

Ether ETF activity

ETF analyst Nate Geraci noted that spot Ether ETFs also saw significant interest, pulling in about $700 million during the same week, representing their strongest weekly inflow since October 2025.

Historical context

The previous major inflow wave occurred in October 2025, when Bitcoin ETFs attracted $3.42 billion. That inflow preceded a market crash on October 10, which triggered the largest liquidation event in crypto history, erasing roughly $19 billion in leveraged positions within 24 hours.
