Bitcoin ETF inflows pause after $3 billion streak while Ethereum, XRP and Solana funds keep attracting cash
US‑listed Bitcoin ETFs lost $201.9 million on Friday, ending a nine‑day inflow streak, as Ethereum, XRP and Solana ETFs recorded a combined $145 million in net inflows.

US‑listed Bitcoin exchange‑traded funds (ETFs) experienced a net outflow of $201.9 million on Friday, breaking a nine‑day streak of inflows. The withdrawal coincided with Bitcoin’s price falling about 3.2 % to $77,696.
Bitcoin ETF outflows
Data from Farside Investors show that ARK 21Shares’ ARKB led the redemptions with $114.9 million, followed by Bitwise’s BITB at $49.7 million. BlackRock’s IBIT lost $33.4 million and VanEck’s HODL shed $13.2 million. A modest $9.3 million inflow into Morgan Stanley’s Bitcoin Trust partially offset the withdrawals.
Despite the single‑day outflow, Bitcoin ETFs have accumulated about $924.5 million in net inflows over the five sessions ending August 28, keeping weekly demand positive. Since their launch, US Bitcoin ETFs have drawn roughly $54.6 billion in net inflows and now manage about $97 billion in assets, making the $201.9 million outflow relatively small in the broader context.
Ethereum, XRP and Solana ETFs continue inflows
Ethereum ETFs added $102.1 million, extending their inflow streak to ten sessions and surpassing $1.5 billion in cumulative inflows. XRP ETFs recorded $26 million of inflows, maintaining a nine‑session streak and bringing total net inflows to around $150 million. Solana ETFs saw $17.3 million in inflows, also on a nine‑day streak, with cumulative inflows near $200 million.
These assets’ ETFs have attracted $12.97 billion (Ethereum), $1.6 billion (XRP), and $1.2 billion (Solana) since launch, managing roughly $15.2 billion, $1.4 billion, and $1.43 billion respectively.
Implications
The divergence suggests that while institutional demand for crypto remains strong, it may be shifting away from Bitcoin toward other major assets. A quick rebound in Bitcoin ETF inflows would frame Friday’s outflow as a brief pause; continued outflows alongside positive inflows for other assets could signal a more lasting reallocation.
