Bitcoin Suisse to cut up to 60 Swiss jobs in overhaul

Bitcoin Suisse has announced plans to cut up to 60 of its 120 positions in Switzerland and close its Copenhagen development site as part of an international reorganization.

Bitcoin Suisse, a Zug‑based crypto‑financial services firm, said it will reduce its Swiss workforce by up to half as it restructures into a more international group.

Job cuts and consultation process

The company may eliminate up to 60 of the 120 positions it currently holds in Switzerland. A staff consultation runs until 20 September, after which the final number of reductions will be decided.

Shift of technical functions abroad

Software development and back‑office activities will be moved to international hubs. The Copenhagen IT office will close, while existing operations in Bratislava will continue. Bitcoin Suisse also plans to open a new hub in Vietnam, though details on location, staffing or timing were not disclosed.

Impact on the Swiss operation

Even if the maximum cuts are applied, roughly 60 employees would remain in Switzerland, with wealth‑management functions expected to stay centred in Zug.

Global footprint

Beyond Switzerland, Bitcoin Suisse maintains offices in Liechtenstein, Abu Dhabi, Bermuda and Slovakia. The planned Vietnamese hub will further expand its presence in Southeast Asia.

Company background

Founded in 2013, Bitcoin Suisse offers trading, custody, staking and lending services to private and institutional clients. As of January 2026, it reported CHF 3 billion in crypto assets under custody and CHF 95 million in equity.
