Coinbase expands Base tokenized stock lineup with six new equities

Coinbase announced the addition of six new tokenized equities to its Base link" href="/prices/ethereum">Ethereum layer‑2 network, increasing the live lineup to ten assets. The new tokens—Amazon (AMZNc), Microsoft (MSFTc), Strategy (MSTRc), SanDisk (SNDKc), SpaceX (SPCXc) and Tesla (TSLAc)—join the original four Apple, Alphabet, Meta and Nvidia tokens.

Trading activity after the initial launch

Token Terminal reported that Coinbase‑issued stock tokens generated $227.7 million in decentralized exchange (DEX) volume over the 30‑day period preceding the latest expansion. Daily DEX activity peaked at more than $33 million.

Structure and custody

Each B20 token represents a beneficial claim on the underlying share or equity interest held by Coinbase Onchain SPV Ltd., which operates from the Abu Dhabi Global Market. Alpaca Securities acts as the broker and custodian for the public equities, providing segregated, bankruptcy‑remote custody.

DeFi integration

Token holders can keep the assets in self‑custodial wallets and trade them on‑chain outside regular market hours. The tokens are compatible with decentralized liquidity providers such as Aerodrome and can be used as collateral on lending platforms including Aave, Morpho and Euler. Price feeds are supplied by Chainlink.

Regulatory restrictions

The B20 securities are offered under Regulation S and are not available to U.S. persons. U.S. investors must use Coinbase Capital Markets for conventional stock trading, which is handled by Apex Clearing.

Third‑party adoption

Bitwise introduced automated portfolios for eligible non‑U.S. users that include the newly added tokens, allowing users to rebalance holdings through the Glider execution platform.
