Cosmos launches 17‑company partner network ahead of Wells Fargo tokenized‑deposit rollout

Cosmos has created a vetted ecosystem of 17 service providers to help banks move tokenized‑deposit projects from pilots to production, with Wells Fargo slated to begin a cross‑border rollout in fall 2026.

Cosmos announced a 17‑company Partner Network designed to streamline the tokenization of bank deposits. The network aims to reduce the time banks spend searching for and qualifying service providers, while keeping each provider’s contract and compliance responsibilities separate.

Partner Network structure

The ecosystem covers custody, compliance, security, infrastructure and systems integration. Participants have tested their services against the Cosmos Tokenization Suite, allowing banks to select providers that already understand the platform. The network does not offer a single, pre‑wired integration; banks must negotiate individual agreements and retain ultimate compliance liability.

Key participants

  • BitGo
  • Blockchain.com
  • Blockdaemon
  • Galaxy Digital
  • OpenZeppelin
  • DFNS
  • Hypernative
  • Additional members: Anseta, Balance, BCW Group, Coinbax, InfStones, Peersyst Technology, Silence Laboratories, Ubyx, Utila, Zeeve

Planned Wells Fargo rollout

Wells Fargo will use Cosmos’ digital ledger to issue tokenized deposits in a cross‑border pilot slated for fall 2026. The bank plans to expand the program to additional clients, countries, currencies and use cases through 2027.

Technical connectivity

Cosmos relies on the Inter‑Blockchain Communication Protocol (IBC) to enable direct asset transfers between ledgers without a central intermediary. IBC currently supports Cosmos‑based networks, Besu, Ethereum and Solana, with further networks expected to join in 2026.

Compliance and responsibility

While IBC handles transport, banks remain responsible for compliance decisions. Each provider is accountable only for the specific service covered by its contract, and banks must manage regulatory liability themselves.

Metrics and future outlook

Cosmos will track the speed of moving from agreement to live transaction, the number of institutions in production, and transaction volume. No specific targets were disclosed.
