X adds real‑time crypto and stock charts with one‑tap trading for U.S. users
X now lets U.S. users tap cashtags such as $BTC or $TSLA to view live charts and launch trades on partner platforms including Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Interactive Brokers and Moomoo.

X has rolled out a new feature for U.S. users that turns cashtag mentions into actionable trading shortcuts. By tapping a cashtag like $BTC or $TSLA, users see a real‑time price chart and a “Trade” button that redirects them to a partner brokerage or exchange.
How the feature works
When the “Trade” button is selected, the user is taken to one of X’s integrated partners – Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken or Coinbase – where they can log in or create an account and complete the order. X does not act as a broker; all buying and selling occurs on the partner platform.
Background on cashtags
Cashtags have been part of X for years as a way to follow market discussion. Earlier this year the company upgraded them with live price data and charting, and the new trade shortcut builds on that functionality.
Strategic intent
The addition is described by X product engineering lead Mridul Singhai as a step toward making X a broader financial hub, narrowing the gap between market chatter on the timeline and actual trading execution.
User reach
X reports roughly 132 million daily active users on mobile devices and over 245 million active users globally across all devices, positioning the platform as a central venue for crypto and stock discussion.
