Ripple and Settlemint Integrate Custody and Tokenization for Institutional Use
Ripple and Settlemint are combining digital asset custody and tokenization tools for regulated financial institutions. The integration could reduce reliance on separate providers for issuance, compliance, settlement, custody, and ongoing asset servicing.

Ripple and blockchain technology firm Settlemint have announced a strategic partnership that merges Ripple Custody with Settlemint’s Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform (DALP). The combined solution aims to give regulated financial institutions a single system for issuing, holding, and managing tokenized assets.
Unified Platform for Asset Issuance and Custody
The integration links Ripple’s custody infrastructure—enhanced by partners such as Securosys, Figment, Chainalysis, and Palisade—with DALP’s capabilities for issuance, compliance, settlement, and servicing. By operating on one platform, institutions can avoid the complexities of coordinating multiple vendors and the associated reconciliation gaps.
Benefits for Financial Institutions
Ripple Custody provides security, governance, and compliance features needed for institutional storage of digital assets. Settlemint extends functionality beyond protection, handling the full lifecycle of tokenized assets, including legal structuring, distribution, and redemption. The partnership is positioned as a foundation for banks moving from pilot projects to production environments that require audit trails and approval controls.
Initial Rollout in Asia
The integrated offering is being launched in the Asia‑Pacific region, with plans to expand as demand grows. Ripple is already involved in tokenization projects such as Aviva Investors’ tokenized liquidity fund share class on the XRP Ledger, demonstrating the practical application of the combined solution.
Market Outlook
Industry estimates suggest tokenized real‑world assets could reach $88 trillion by 2035, representing about 16 % of global investable assets in a progressive scenario. The shift toward on‑chain capital markets could reshape revenue models for banks.
